Quite a few of sites have been emerging recently for the purpose of teaching children how to read, and one of them is www.starfall.com. Originally created in 2002 as a free service to all public, the company is emphasizing the use of phonics in its learning methods. The whole program was revitalized in May of 2009 when they created current “Starfall Kindergarten Reading and Language Arts Curriculum”. The method of instructions is designed to motivate children toward learning through enthusiasm.

There are three ways to learn from Starfall.com. The most common one is through the use of their online interactive learning tutorials. They are divided in four basic groups. The first one is “ABCs – Let’s get ready to read” which introduces kids to all the letters. Then comes “Learn to Read – Zac the Rat and other tales” that introduces next step in reading. The third in line is “It’s Fun to Read” for more advanced readers, while the last set of tutorials “I’m reading” tutorials is geared toward the most advanced levels.

One can also order learning material through their The Starfall Store with education products such as Boxed set of 15 Learn-to-Read books, The Little Red Hen and other Folk Tales, as well Classic Starfall.com CD ROM which includes all of the site's content. The third way to learn to read is by using their can also choose to obtain free learning material from Download Center which includes Level-I Reading & Writing Journal, Level-I Cut-Up/Take-Home Books, Level-I Reading Awards, and Level-II Reading & Writing Journal.

The site's offers do not end there as there is also animated nursery rhymes, and interactive learning games that include creating, among other things, own gingerbread, pumpkin, and snowman. For those that prefer learning on the go, there is Mobile Apps of the program. And to round it all up, there is Kindergarten Curriculum that can show how everything can be properly time scheduled.
